Hamsa, a global leader in tokenizing real-world assets, has raised $27 million to transform global clearing and settlement through a unified ledger. Hamsa raises $27 million

With approximately $3.2 billion in tokenized assets, Hamsa has announced that it has raised $27 million in total funding to date. The goal is to transform global clearing and settlement through a unified ledger.

Thus, the platform promises to solve the main problems of interoperability, privacy and speed for automated bank clearing and settlement, especially for wholesale and international payments.

The Series A round was led by Greycroft and Haven and includes substantial investments from Valor Capital and Quona Capital, reflecting Hamsa’s focus on the Brazilian market. In addition, the round also includes investments from leading institutional and strategic investors from the US, APAC and LATAM.

Furthermore, it is worth remembering that Hamsa's clients include central banks from all over the world, including, for example, the Central Bank of Brazil. The platform is currently participating in the Digital Real Pilot (DREX) and is focused mainly on solving the privacy problem.

Hamsa’s other projects include digital infrastructure, stablecoins and the tokenization of real-world assets. In the EU, for example, the company will participate in a third global CBDC project, starting in late 2024, together with several of the world’s leading central banks, focusing on solving the challenge of cross-border payments.

Henrique Teixeira, who heads the company's operations in the Americas, reinforced Brazil's crucial role within the brand's global strategy.

B3 begins round of public consultation for the evolution of the Novo Mercado

B3 announced a new public consultation to create a proposal for the rules of the so-called Novo Mercado. The segment brings together companies listed on B3 that are “voluntarily committed to complying with governance practices that are more rigorous than those required by law.”

During the first phase of the consultation, carried out between May and August, B3 promoted more than 50 interactions, including individual and collective meetings with more than 120 companies listed on the Novo Mercado.

After many demonstrations, the Brazilian stock exchange felt it was important to carry out the second public consultation.

The market engagement and the volume of comments received were extremely positive for the development of the proposal. We received valuable contributions to prepare a common and balanced document, which aims to improve processes for compliance with governance rules, protect shareholders' rights and encourage good corporate practices, explained B3's Director of Issuers, Flavia Mouta.

As in the first phase, anyone interested in the topics can participate in the consultation, including market agents, publicly-held companies, investors, regulators, associations and academics. Until November 11, 2024, B3 will receive comments and contributions on the proposals presented by email at sre@b3.com.br.

After analyzing the contributions sent by the public, B3 will publish the restricted hearing, so that the companies listed in the segment can vote on the final proposal. The public consultation is available at the link.

CVM publishes list of suspended securities consultants

The CVM has published a list of legal entities suspended by administrative decisions. However, participants can still request the suspension to be reversed. The blockage began on October 10 and prevents the provision of securities advisory services – legal entities of the listed participants.

In public offerings that follow the automatic registration procedure, applications must be completed with the information requested by the SRE System.

According to the technical area, it has not been identified, to date, that such participants have submitted the Reference Form for the 2022 and 2023 fiscal years, the deadline for which is March 31 (of each year), as determined by art. 15 of the same standard.

Request for reversal of suspension

To request the suspension to be reversed, the participant must submit an appeal through the CVM Digital Protocol, with a reasoned request including proof of submission of overdue periodic obligations. Therefore, the submission of Reference Forms for previous competencies must be done only through the CVMWeb system.
