According to Cointelegraph, many Hollywood stars have publicly resisted AI deep fakes recently. Tom Hanks, YouTube celebrity Mr. Beast, and American broadcast journalist Gayle King have all tried to stop themselves from being deeply faked by AI.
Tom Hanks posted a screenshot of an AI-forged video on Instagram on October 1, reminding fans to be careful and saying that he had nothing to do with the video. Soon after, Gayle King also posted a similar video on Instagram. She said that her voice and video were manipulated and seemed to be promoting a product, but she knew nothing about it.
On October 3, YouTube celebrity MrBeast condemned an AI-generated fake video on social media. He questioned whether social media platforms are ready to deal with the rise of AI deep fakes and said it is a serious problem.
