🚨Terra blockchain froze its website following phishing attacks by malicious actors targeting users. Although the amount stolen was not specified, Terra asked users not to use the site until the issues are resolved.
🔒Terra stated in the announcement made on X (formerly Twitter) on August 22, 2023 that it took this action in order to prevent further phishing scams. Although Terra was able to successfully freeze the affected domains, it recommended that customers stay away from the sites until the matter is resolved.
🔧Following the attacks, the Terra-backed Station wallet, which allows users to access various blockchains and decentralized applications, also made significant changes to ensure security.
📉The security breach on Terra's website occurred more than a year after the collapse of the Terra ecosystem. This crash caused the algorithmic stablecoin TerraUSD (UST) and its native token LUNA, issued by Terraform Labs, to become worthless and led to huge losses of billions of dollars.
