#BlackRockCanadaLaunchesBitcoinLinkedETF Lent its iShares Bitcoin ETF on Cboe Canada under the ticker IBIT / IBIT.U. The fund will invest all or substantially all of its assets in the IBIT of the USA and promises to eliminate the complexity of directly custodying BTC. Why is it big? 1. A 0.32% fee, very cheap. 2. The USA IBIT already has +$37 billion in inflows. It’s the fastest-growing ETF in history. 3. In Canada there were already 12 BTC ETFs, but none with BlackRock’s network. This isn’t for retail. It’s so Canadian pension funds and banks can buy BTC from their usual account. My take: This is pure institutional adoption. Each new IBIT makes BTC harder to ignore.
