OKX × ICE tokenized U.S. stocks: 62 companies say no, leaving just 8 on the menu? 🚫
📊 According to reports by MarketRadar/Unchained:
• The number of companies objecting rose from 9 in mid-October to 62 by 11/4
• Of the original 62 target companies, 54 have objected—about 87%
• Apple, Boeing, ServiceNow, and Nebius are among them
• Just 8 companies have not objected, including Strategy, Coinbase, Robinhood, Circle, Palantir, and BitGo; most are crypto-related
🧐 My take:
The SEC's 9/17 framework gave companies 30 days to object. Large companies are choosing to wait and see, and want to maintain control of their own shares. The tokenized U.S. stocks idea isn't dead—it's the launch lineup for this platform that's dead. No launch date has been announced yet.
⚠️ What this means for crypto:
Traditional giants are still cautious about on-chain stocks, so they’re unlikely to become a major narrative in the short term. BTC is currently around $76,119 (24h -5.5%), ETH is at $2,240, and the Fear & Greed Index is 28. Macroeconomic conditions and sentiment around U.S. stocks are more likely to drive the market.
