According to whale data, the average cost of long positions is 0.061, with a position value of 28.16M.
The average cost of short positions is 1.01, with a position value of 3M. That's down by about half.

Some of those 3M in short positions were probably closed at a profit to break even, while others were opened and closed by the market makers themselves.

What happens next depends on how things unfold; there's no one-size-fits-all answer.

Just recording the smart money positions: the number of open short positions hasn't changed much since this morning, but their average entry price is now around 0.08, up from 0.04 this morning.

Why has the short entry price risen? One reason is that people keep bravely opening short positions, pushing the price up. Another is that over a million worth of short positions were liquidated, as those with insufficient margin at the bottom got wiped out.
