According to Odaily, Fantom Foundation has announced its third Sonic governance proposal on platform X. The proposal includes ecosystem subsidies, a new token destruction mechanism, and innovative plans such as Sonic Spark and Sonic University. It is reported that over the next six years, the Sonic Foundation will allocate a portion of the tokens as operating funds for Sonic Labs. These funds will be used to manage the network growth between dApp, BD partners, and the ever-growing existing and new user communities.

In addition, if the community decides to keep the inflation rate at 1.5% per year for the next six years, 47,625,000 tokens will be minted each year (3,175,000,000 x 1.5%). If Sonic Labs only uses 5,000,000 tokens in a given year, the Sonic Foundation will destroy the remaining tokens (42,625,000). This new token destruction mechanism is part of the governance proposal and aims to maintain the value of the Sonic tokens.
