Deloitte recently announced a strategic alliance with cryptocurrency analysis company Chainalysis to improve clients’ blockchain tracking capabilities. The partnership, announced on July 25, 2023 at the Chainalysis conference in Washington, D.C., will leverage Chainalysis' blockchain datasets, analytics software and training programs to assist Deloitte's clients with their cryptocurrency forensics, investigations and compliance needs.

Deloitte noted that challenges facing government agencies include the use of cryptocurrencies to obfuscate transactions and money laundering, as well as an international regulatory environment that makes it more difficult to obtain information from foreign exchanges. Deloitte said the partnership with Chainalysis will help "identify the actors behind the keyboard and effectively prosecute them," including tracing money flows to high-risk or sanctioned entities.
