The recent 113th Ethereum Core Developers Consensus Meeting (ACDC) discussed some important topics. Developers discussed the possibility of reducing the validator churn limit, that is, slowing the rate at which the validator set size grows, and preparing for the Deneb/Cancun upgrade. Parithosh Jayanthi, DevOps Engineer at the Ethereum Foundation, shared the latest progress on the Dencun testing work. He mentioned that the dedicated test network Devnet#7has been actively tested for two weeks. Almost all EL and CL client combinations have been tested, except for the Erigon (EL) client. Jayanthi encouraged client teams to check the Dencun issue tracker to identify outstanding bugs and fix their software versions. In addition, the blockchain explorer for Devnet #7, which is used to track blob data, has been updated. The next upgrade is named Prague, and the CL upgrade after Deneb will be the fifth hard fork upgrade of the beacon chain. Developers are considering different star names starting with the letter "E" to name the CL upgrade. Some of the proposed names include: Ebla, Edasich, Electra, Elgafar, Elkurud, and Elnath. At the moment, it seems that the most popular name is Electra. Participants of the developer meeting were encouraged to express their opinions on the naming of the CL upgrade on the forum. These discussions and progress show the Ethereum team's determination to continuously improve and prepare for the next upgrade. They are concerned about the problem of validator churn and are committed to maintaining the healthy performance of the network. Developers are also actively exploring different optimizations of Ethereum's peer-to-peer layer and have made some changes to the network specifications. Overall, the Ethereum core developer consensus meeting provides community members with the opportunity to learn about the latest developments and participate in discussions to ensure the continued development and improvement of the Ethereum network. The team will continue to work hard to provide users with a better experience and promote technological innovation in Ethereum.
