How does the mainnet know that a result submitted by a Rollup is correct?
Optimistic Rollups initially assume that submitted results are correct. During the challenge period, anyone can submit a fraud proof to challenge a result.
If the fraud proof is upheld, the incorrect result is overturned, and the party that submitted it has their deposit slashed.
