A Pump and Dump is a price-manipulation scheme involving an asset.

It has existed long before cryptocurrencies, but in the crypto world it can happen at a brutal pace, especially with small tokens that have low liquidity and low trading volume.

The logic is simple.

First, a group buys a cryptocurrency while its price is still very low.

The important thing to understand is this:

they get in before everyone else....

Then the PUMP begins, which means driving the price up...

The token starts being heavily promoted on social media, in groups, and through various media outlets:

This coin is going to explode.

Buy now.

It’s going to 100x.

Don’t miss out.....

There are even groups that announce they’ll reveal which cryptocurrency everyone should buy at a certain time!!

When they finally post the name, hundreds or thousands of people try to get in at the same time.

And then something completely real happens: the price starts to rise.

If an asset has low liquidity and suddenly faces enormous buying pressure, its price can shoot up quickly.

That’s where FOMO—Fear Of Missing Out—kicks in, the fear of being left out.

You see it’s up 30% and buy.

Someone else gets in after it’s already risen 70%.

Someone else sees +150% and thinks:

This is just the beginning....

The rise itself attracts new buyers. And the more they buy, the higher the price goes.

It seems like an extraordinary opportunity....

But the exact opposite may be happening.

Those new buyers are creating the demand that the people who got in first need in order to sell.

That’s when the DUMP begins.

The organizers, or those who accumulated the asset beforehand, start selling, taking advantage of the high price and the number of people trying to buy.

Let’s say they bought at US$0.01.

After all their promotion and the flood of buyers, the token reaches US$100.

Then... they themselves... the ones who promoted the next “big thing” to get people to buy the coin...

start selling it....

And like anything else.. when there are no more buyers, the price stops rising.. and starts falling....

And panic sets in.

Those who bought at US$100 try to get out, selling at US$0.80. Others sell at US$0.50. Then US$0.30...

Until many are left holding an asset worth a much smaller fraction of what they paid....

That’s why there’s a key concept to understand this scheme:

the last buyers can become the exit liquidity for those who got in first!

And there’s a warning sign that should set off every alarm: URGENCY.

Buy now.

Last chance.

It’s exploding.

Five minutes left.

After that, it’ll be too late....

Because Pump and Dump schemes need speed. They need euphoria, FOMO, and a crowd buying without stopping to analyze what’s going on....

The urgency isn’t accidental: the less time you have to think, research, and verify, the easier it is to turn you into a buyer!

And before you get in, there’s one question that could change everything:

If this really is an extraordinary opportunity… why do they need to desperately convince me to buy NOW?
