The overnight correlation between U.S. stocks and crypto, explained

There was no new narrative in U.S. stocks today—just price moves.

To see which sectors are leading and which are falling behind, look at price changes, not stories.

Nasdaq 26,425 (5-day -2.87%, Yahoo)
VIX 17.31 (5-day +2.61%)
S&P 7,713 (5-day -1.19%, Yahoo)

My take: The Nasdaq is down 2.87% over 5 days, lagging the S&P’s -1.19%. Growth stocks are falling behind. Chasing AI coins now means taking on the beta that U.S. stocks have already started dumping.

Flows: BTC 83038 (+1.15%). ETH at +1.86% is stronger than BTC at +1.15%, with an exchange rate of 0.02955. This looks like risk appetite spilling over—not BTC acting alone.

Next, watch whether the 10-year yield can stabilize. If yields keep rising, I’ll treat rebounds in both growth stocks and BTC as retracements.

My positioning: I only buy pullbacks; I don’t chase breakouts. If the structure holds, I can keep a core position. Any additions have to wait for a pullback level.

Data: Binance spot 24h / Binance USDⓈ-M futures / Yahoo daily (5-day change) / altme_fng / mempool_fees / defillama_chains / coingecko_trending. Missing figures are not filled in.
Would you place an order at a pullback level, or wait for the candle to close?

Useful tip: If there’s downtime or abnormal block production, close high-leverage positions first, then figure out why things are glitching.
Idea: If funding turns positive and the long/short ratio is >1.15, write “crowded” first—not “chase the rally.”

For context: People are discussing “bitcoin OR stock market OR U.S. stocks - Google News.” I use that only as background; my conclusions are still based on the figures in the post.

Personal opinion; figures and sources are in the post. Not an instruction to trade.
