CSRC Calls Out Offshore Leveraged Products

- At the 2026 Financial Street Forum, Wu Qing stressed that stability must come first and raised the priority of preventing risks in new types of business, specifically calling out leveraged products linked to individual A-shares and offered offshore.
- These products are mostly offered through offshore brokers via total return swaps and contracts for difference. Their leverage is higher than that of domestic margin financing and securities lending, and they are settled through cross-border capital channels. If regulators tighten restrictions, this will also curb demand for cross-border arbitrage using on-chain stablecoins.

Tightening cross-border channels will dampen risk appetite, and short-term leveraged funds are likely to reduce positions first. If the price breaks below the lower end of the recent trading range, the pullback could deepen; a rebound setup is possible only if this level holds. Would you still dare to place limit orders to buy spot at this level?
