【Do you think it’s undervalued, when actually they’re luring buyers in?】
Yesterday I saw that Ripple news—Standard Chartered is setting up RLUSD custody in Dubai and bringing LMAX on board, calling it a $ 150M funding story.
My first thought wasn’t “bullish for LINK,” but—
The hotter the news gets, the closer you need to watch your position.
Why?
Think about it: how long does it take for an institutional partnership like this to go from announcement to reality? A year? Two years? What tangible results can retail investors expect to see in the meantime? More rounds of “partnership in progress” hype—and more chances for insiders to sell into the news.
I’m not making this up. It’s the same playbook as 2017, the same playbook as 2021, just wearing a new outfit. The only difference is that this time it’s dressed up in new buzzwords like RWA and RLUSD.
The FNG is at 62, in Greed territory—not extreme, but not exactly low either. I’ve lived through the bull-market peak when the FNG hit 95 and everyone was saying, “This time is different.” I’ve also seen everyone cursing the market when the FNG was below 30—and that turned out to be the best time to buy.
The awkward thing right now is this: LINK is down 75% from its ATH, so it really is cheap; the FNG is only at 62, so sentiment isn’t crazy; and the institutional partnership sounds great. But when those three things come together, it often means—
You think it’s undervalued; they think it’s a great time to sell.
Support is at 12.12, resistance at 13.43, and the trading range is getting narrower and narrower. When the market is choosing a direction, that’s often when retail investors are most likely to get shaken out or trapped in a position.
I’m not bearish on LINK’s fundamentals, but when I see this kind of “news-and-sentiment” combo, I do get tempted to make a move—then immediately ask myself: Can I resist this time?
What about you? If you’re holding LINK, how are you feeling these past couple of days? Getting itchy?
