In the past hour, the total liquidation across the whole network was $11.85 million; about 90% came from longs. This round is killing those chasing longs.
Ethereum alone accounted for $2.74 million, nearly a quarter of the network’s total in that hour, and 97% of it was longs. Out of 382 liquidation trades, you can hardly find any shorts at all. Bitcoin in the same period wasn’t much better: in $1.10 million of liquidations, 96% were longs.
Stretch it out and it becomes even more obvious: over the past 24 hours the whole network saw roughly a 50/50 split in liquidations; under the 4-hour window, the long side’s share rose to 84%; and in the most recent hour it surged to nearly 90%—the force behind short-term liquidation of longs is accelerating, not due to a random one-off move.
The largest single transaction on Binance: 55 Ethereum were liquidated at $2,696, nearly $150,000.
