According to The Astana Times, Gizzat Baitursynov, Deputy Minister of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development of Kazakhstan, said at a government meeting on September 15 that the volume of transactions in the country’s regulated crypto market increased from $320 million in 2023 to $10.58 billion in 2025—about 33 times higher than two years ago. During the same period, the number of users rose from 53,000 to 215,000. Since 2022, the country has been running pilot programs with the Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC) and financial regulatory bodies, gradually building a licensing and operations framework for crypto exchanges. Solana Superteam KZ head said that over the past year, more than 8,000 people received training related to the Solana ecosystem, and more than 2,000 of them obtained certificates. Kazakhstan entered the global top ten in the number of applications to Solana’s international hackathon, and 57 local startups received a total of 121 million tenge (about $262,000) in funding.
