Among the seven TRON-related coins, there is a token called “NFT.”

When you hear the word “NFT,” you probably think of Non-Fungible Tokens that give uniqueness to images, art, game items, and more.

But the “NFT” that comes up in connection with TRON is also the token name of APENFT.

“Having an NFT artwork” and “having a token called $NFT” are two different things.

🔶First, what is an NFT work?

NFT artworks are basically digital assets where each piece can be distinguished from the others.

Even if it’s the “same” one, it isn’t necessarily interchangeable with another NFT as-is

“Non-Fungible = non-fungibility”

On the other hand, APENFT’s $NFT is a token handled by quantity like a normal crypto asset

You can handle units of the same kind, such as 1 NFT, 100 NFT, 1,000 NFT…

Even if they have the same name “NFT,” their nature is different

🔶So what is APENFT? 🔶

What appears here is APENFT

APENFT is a project that has built an ecosystem that deals with NFT artworks, and on TRON there is also trading infrastructure for the APENFT Market

If you look at the official Developer Docs,

APENFTExchange

→ Match buy and sell orders

ERC20AssetProxy

→ Transfer on the Fungible Token side

ERC721AssetProxy

→ Transfer on the NFT side

and behind the Market, different Smart Contracts are used for different roles

In other words,

an NFT as an artwork

the Market to trade in

around it, the token called $NFT

I think it becomes easier to understand if you consider those three separately

🔶If you buy $NFT, can you own the NFT artwork? 🔶

Just because you hold an $NFT doesn’t mean you automatically become the owner of a specific NFT artwork

Conversely, even if you purchase an NFT artwork on the APENFT Market, that doesn’t mean you bought $NFT directly

🔹NFT = a technology/asset category

🔹NFT artwork = an individual asset issued using that technology

🔹$NFT = APENFT token

So, I think it’s easier to remember if you separate it like this

🔶Things to confirm with holders🔶

APENFT’s official guidance currently is: check the Approval on TRONSCAN for users who previously granted approval to the old ERC20AssetProxy, and if it’s still there, revoke it

Among the items the official lists as targets, besides $NFT, there are WIN, WTRX, USDT, and more

The target contracts are

ERC20AssetProxy

TRgSk4foxSg4JaV2EjNz8qzaNrBhUtWUnz

If you haven’t used APENFT in the past, or you haven’t approved this contract, then normally you don’t need to do anything

Also, revoking approval is not an operation that moves or deletes assets inside the Wallet—it’s an operation that cancels the usage permissions you granted to the Contract

🔶Key point for this time🔶

As the NFT market grows = $NFT is the same thing

But thinking of it that way is a bit off

If you want to look at $NFT, you shouldn’t follow only the overall story of the NFT market—you also need to track whether APENFT’s products are being used, whether there is usage in the Market, and what roles/demand $NFT itself has, all separately
