Honestly, with 10 years I’ve been in this world, what makes people profit isn’t the smartest one.

The smartest ones usually are the ones who die the fastest.

I once knew an IT kid—really smart. Knows charts, understands on-chain, knows the narrative too. Every day he switches coins. Today AI, tomorrow RWA, the day after meme. His analysis is always right. But his portfolio keeps turning red. Why? Because he can’t just stay put.

Every time there’s a tiny green candle, he enters. Every time there’s a little FUD, he exits. His brain keeps spinning. In the end, it’s not the market that outplays him—he ends up outplaying himself.

It’s different from my friend, who’s not that smart. When asked what the difference is between L1 and L2, he gets confused too. But he has one stupid rule that he sticks to with all his might: be able to eat enough.

He only bought BTC and ETH in 2020. Not much. He wrote in his phone notes: "If it becomes X, withdraw this much to settle the house debt. Let the rest be." That’s it. After that, he didn’t look at the chart every hour. He focused on work, focused on family.

When 2021 exploded, the smart ones from before were still running around looking for the top. They were already calm. In the 2022 bear market, the smart ones who were yelling "crypto scam" were still calm. Because their target isn’t to be the smartest on Twitter; their target is only to have enough.

Hey you who just joined, listen to this:

In crypto, being smart is a trap.

If you feel smart, you’ll feel like you can guess the top and bottom. You’ll use leverage. You’ll go all-in because you’re "sure." That’s where you start to lose.

If you’re calm, you don’t need to guess anything. You only need to know 3 things:

  1. Is the money you put in cold money or rice money? If it’s rice money, you’ll never be at peace.

  2. What are you putting it in for? To buy a motorcycle, or to become a big shot tomorrow? If it’s to become a big shot tomorrow, you’ll never have enough.

  3. When will you stop? This is something influencers never teach.

Being smart keeps pushing you to enter. Being calm makes you know when it’s done.

I’ve seen a lot of smart people who are gone now. And I’ve seen a lot of calm people who are still here. Still able to eat, still able to have coffee, still able to laugh while watching the chart go up and down.

So if you’re a beginner, don’t rush to become the smartest first. Aim to be the calmest first.

This market isn’t a competition to see who has the best analysis. It’s a competition of who can hold their breath the longest.

And a long breath is only something people who know when enough is enough have.

What do you think? Team smart who keeps spinning around, or team calm who has enough to eat?
