A man convicted in connection with the 2021 Abbey Gate bombing in Afghanistan has been sentenced to 20 years in prison. Mohammad Sharifullah received the maximum sentence after being extradited from Afghanistan. He was convicted of participating in a nine-year conspiracy to provide material support to a designated foreign terrorist organization. The Abbey Gate attack killed 13 US servicemembers during the chaotic withdrawal from Afghanistan.
