If you're still treating Bitcoin and gold like the same trade, stop now.

A lot of traders get trapped by the headline move and miss the real one underneath it. They see gold ripping, assume safety is winning, then buy too late or hold the wrong asset while BTC keeps compounding.

Since 2020, $BTC has gone from buying 4.63 oz of gold to 16.79 oz. Gold is up 197% in USD over that stretch, but Bitcoin is up 977%. That is the debate in one chart: gold has been strong, yet $BTC has still outperformed it by a mile.

The bear case is simple: gold is the older, steadier hedge, and $BTC still carries more volatility. The bull case is cleaner, though. If the goal is preserving and growing purchasing power, Bitcoin has been doing that job better than gold, and anyone rotating too early out of $BTC , $ETH, or $SOL has felt that pain.

The question is whether investors still want the comfort of gold, or whether they finally accept that Bitcoin has become the stronger macro trade.
