Dusk and the challenge of bringing traditional finance onchain
@dusk is building Dusk as a Layer 1 for regulated financial markets, focused on a very practical problem: how financial assets can operate onchain while still meeting privacy and compliance requirements.
A noteworthy point is DuskEVM. With an EVM-compatible environment, institutions and developers can access Dusk through familiar Solidity workflows. Combined with Hedger, Dusk aims for confidential EVM workflows, using homomorphic encryption and zero-knowledge proofs to enable programmable privacy while still supporting review when permission is granted.
At the application layer, Dusk Trade is built for tokenized financial assets such as MMFs, ETFs, bonds, and RWAs. The goal is to connect real ownership, instant settlement, and DeFi composability in an environment designed for regulated finance.
I also really appreciate Dusk’s approach to privacy: not “hide everything,” but privacy where needed, transparency where useful, and selective disclosure when authorized.
That could be an important direction for bringing securities and financial assets onto the blockchain in a way that better fits the requirements of the managed market.
