9. Nvidia discloses that it holds about $21 billion worth of shares in SpaceX
BlockBeats message, August 15: Nvidia filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to disclose that as of the end of June this year, the company holds about 123 million shares of SpaceX, with a book value of nearly $21 billion.
According to the filing, due to fluctuations in SpaceX’s stock price after its listing, the current valuation of Nvidia’s shares is about $17 billion. This disclosure shows that Nvidia, through its investment and layout, further deepens its capital ties with core customers and companies across the AI industry chain. It is understood that Nvidia previously completed an investment in xAI, Musk’s AI company, in January this year; afterward, xAI merged with SpaceX. The stake in question is viewed as an important return from that investment.
SpaceX CEO Elon Musk previously said that the SpaceX data centers will establish an exclusive partnership with Nvidia, using Nvidia’s latest Vera Rubin architecture to build AI infrastructure.
