What is Anti-Phishing Code?
Anti-Phishing Code is a security feature provided by Binance that allows users to add an extra layer of security to their accounts. Once activated, the Anti-Phishing Code will be included in all genuine emails you receive from Binance. This code will help you distinguish genuine emails from phishing emails to help prevent phishing attempts.
How to set up your first Anti-Phishing Code
Hover over your account dashboard. You can find the Anti-Phishing Code setting in the security tab. To get started, click the button labeled “Generate Anti-Phishing Code”.
You will now be asked to enter the Anti-Phishing Code into a field. The code must consist of a minimum of 8 characters with uppercase letters and numbers. You are advised to choose a code that is not easy to guess, but is easy for you to recognize.
You will now be asked to enter your google authentication code or SMS Authentication code depending on which two-factor authentication you have enabled.
After entering the two-factor authentication code, your Anti-Phishing code will be completed. Now, all emails that are legitimate and come from Binance will contain the code you have set.
TIP: We recommend that you update your Anti-Phishing Code at least once per month.
How to update Anti-Phishing Code
Since it is recommended that you update your Anti-Phishing Code regularly to keep your security optimized, you can follow these steps to update your code.
Hover over the Anti-Phishing Code setting in your account dashboard, and you'll see a button labeled “Change code.” Click this button to start the process.
Enter the Anti-Phishing Code in the field. Remember that the new code must be a minimum of 8 characters with at least one uppercase letter and one number.
You will now be asked to enter your google authentication code or SMS Authentication code depending on which two-factor authentication you have enabled.
After entering the two-factor authentication code, your Anti-Phishing code will be updated. Now, all emails that are legitimate and come from Binance will contain the new code you have set.
