According to U.Today, Anthony Pompliano, the founder of Pomp Investments and venture capitalist, posted about Satoshi Nakamoto and the Bitcoin halving on his social media account. He jokingly tweeted that the mysterious Bitcoin founder Satoshi Nakamoto missed a big opportunity by not setting the halving date on April 20. This day is known as Marijuana Day and recently also as Dogecoin Day, although this iconic Meme coin was not released in April.
Pompliano suggested that Satoshi Nakamoto missed the opportunity to bring his innovation to the hearts and minds of ordinary people. Bitcoin was first created as a reaction to fiat currency and the traditional banking system, but marijuana has been considered a symbol of "opposition to the system" for decades. It has been legalized in many countries.
In response to Pompliano's tweet, many people in the Bitcoin community tweeted that the Bitcoin halving event missed April 20 simply because the US time zone is ahead of the UK and the EU. Users tweeted that for the above countries, the halving did not occur on April 19, but on April 20. One user tweeted that Satoshi Nakamoto was in Europe, so he must have taken April 20 into account.
Before cryptocurrencies came along, April 20 was just Marijuana Day, and over the past few years it has also become Dogecoin Day, now celebrated by the DOGE community around the world. Many cryptocurrency platforms, including the most popular meme coin Floki, tweeted to congratulate their community on Dogecoin Day.
