According to Blockworks, another CryptoPunk NFT has been sold for $16 million, following the sale of a CryptoPunks NFT for $16 million two weeks ago. On Wednesday, CryptoPunk #7084, one of the nine blue alien series and one of the most popular pieces in the series, was sold for $16.42 million. The transaction makes it the second largest CryptoPunk sale ever. The buyer and seller appear to have made the transaction directly. The seller, Peruggia, allegedly said that he would feel like an "impostor" if he didn't "enhance" the collectible. Peruggia made a huge profit from the transaction, purchasing the NFT for $7.57 million in 2021. CryptoPunks were first minted in 2017, and it rose in the 2021 NFT craze and remains popular to this day. According to NFT Price Floor data, the cheapest CryptoPunk in this series of 10,000 works is sold for $166,242. It is the NFT series with the largest market value.
