Google invests $300 million in artificial intelligence company Anthropic, Alameda previously invested about $500 million in it

According to TechFlow, Google has invested about $300 million in artificial intelligence startup Anthropic. According to three people familiar with the matter, Google will acquire about 10% of the shares through this transaction. The terms of the transaction require Anthropic to use the money to purchase computing resources from Google's cloud computing department.

Both OpenAI and Anthropic are seeking to develop generative artificial intelligence, or complex computer programs that can write scripts and create art in seconds. While Microsoft is trying to integrate OpenAI’s technology into many of its own services, Google’s relationship with Anthropic is limited to serving as a technology supplier to the company in the AI ​​arms race, according to people familiar with the matter. Anthropic has developed an intelligent chatbot called Claude that is comparable to OpenAI’s ChatGPT, but it has not yet been publicly released.

According to previous news, Anthropic, the AI ​​company ranked second in Alameda/FTX investment, may complete a financing of about US$300 million. Alameda/FTX previously invested about US$500 million in Anthropic.
