Key points
Binance is committed to innovative changes in Web3 and has developed a convenient and secure wallet - the Binance Web3 wallet.
Binance's Web3 wallet uses Multiparty Computation (MPC) technology to provide secure and simple digital asset management. Users don't need to remember their passphrase, but they still have full control over their assets.
The three keys to your Binance Web3 wallet are stored in different locations, including your personal cloud storage, your device, and Binance.
Binance Web3 wallet is the power of MPC technology for easy and safe use of digital assets.
In recent years, Web3 has quickly become one of the hottest topics in the world with huge potential for development. Web3 is about freedom and user control, and it is undoubtedly changing the way we interact on the Internet.
Binance has always tried to be ahead and develop technologies that make the blockchain world more convenient and secure.
Part of this commitment is our new product, the Binance Web3 Wallet.
Binance's new MPC wallet: ushering in a new era of Web3 innovation
"Web3 wallets are more than just storage for digital assets; they are an integral part of the Web3 infrastructure, empowering people to gain complete control over their assets," said Changpeng Zhao, CEO and founder of Binance.
Binance web3 wallet offers users a simple and secure way to manage their digital assets thanks to MPC technology. This wallet is a key part of our ongoing efforts to improve the user experience in a fast-paced digital environment, and we are confident that you will appreciate the benefits and simplicity that MPC technology will bring to your Web3 experience.
What is an MPC wallet and why is this technology so important?
One of the most important things to know about the Binance Web3 wallet is that it uses multiparty computing (MPC) technology. This means that you will be able to use the wallet without having to remember a passphrase, but still have full control over your assets. Let's take a closer look!
Learn more about Web3 and Multiparty Computing (MPC)
Web3, or the decentralized Internet, can be seen as the next evolution of the Internet. Thanks to Web3 technology, users have full control over their own data, unlike the Internet that everyone uses today (Web2). Web2 services centralize the control of data in large corporations, which means that you do not actually own the data and content that you put on the Internet.
Web3 was created as a decentralized, trustless Internet, often powered by P2P networks, blockchain, and smart contracts.
This latest technology uses Multiparty Computation (MPC), which provides an advanced level of security for Web3 transactions and wallets. MPC is a subset of cryptography in which multiple parties can efficiently perform cryptographic computations together (such as creating a wallet or sending a transaction) without revealing their sensitive data.
Speaking of cryptocurrency wallets, MPC allows you to create a secure key management system with no single point of failure. This single point of failure for a standard wallet will mean the loss of your passphrase.
It is important to emphasize that in MPC, a single private key is never generated, shared or reconstructed in the process: this is what distinguishes this technology from traditional models based on a single private key.
Using MPC in Binance Web3 Wallet:
By using MPC technology in our Web3 wallet, Binance is able to offer users an impeccable level of security. Based on MPC, the Binance Web3 wallet provides a secure cryptographic key management service while maintaining ease of use.
MPC technology, with its ability to perform secure computations on distributed networks, enhances the privacy and security aspects of Binance's Web3 wallet. It offers an additional level of protection of digital assets and embodies the fundamental principles of Web3 - decentralization and full control over assets by users.
This commitment to security and privacy underscores Binance's commitment to making the use of digital assets easier, safer and more accessible for everyone, regardless of their level of technical expertise.
"The overall goal of developing our Web3 wallet is to give our users access to Web3. We want our users to be confident that they are interacting with Web3 in a safe and secure ecosystem.
That's why we've included MPC technology as well as a solid security infrastructure in the Binance Web3 wallet. The common stress of worrying about losing your passphrase is gone, so we can empower millions of users to explore the Web3 universe safely and easily." - Richard Teng, Head of Regional Markets, Binance
How the Binance Web3 wallet works
Binance's web3 wallet uses multiparty computing (MPC) technology to generate three separate keys. The Binance Web3 wallet does not use passphrases.
For added security, the three keys are stored in different locations, including your personal cloud storage and your device. You must keep the key secure in your cloud storage using an encryption process with a recovery password that only you will know.
After setting up your Binance Web3 wallet, three keys will be generated:
First Key: Stored in Binance
Second key: Stored on your device
Third key: Encrypted with the recovery password you entered and stored in your cloud storage (iCloud or Google Drive).
At least two keys are required to access your Web3 wallet. If one key is lost or compromised, the other two will remain securely encrypted to keep your assets safe and allow you to access them.
We strongly recommend that you back up your Web3 wallet and store your recovery password in a safe place to avoid losing your assets. However, if you lose your recovery password and then lose the device where the key is stored or delete the Binance app, you will not be able to regain access to your Web3 wallet. Binance also won't be able to help you restore it.
It is important to note that the Binance Web3 wallet is a non-custodial wallet. While it allows you to retain full control over your own assets, it also means that you are fully responsible for the security of those assets and maintaining wallet backups.
Why you should choose Binance Web3 wallet
Using an MPC-based wallet greatly reduces the risk of key breakage, which often occurs with standard wallets where keys are stored in one location. Also, such a wallet does not require the use of a passphrase, which is a significant vulnerability of many wallets.
These features, combined with a user-friendly design and easy access to various DeFi services, make the MPC crypto wallet a better and safer solution for managing digital assets. In general, the Binance Web3 wallet is:
Simply. The Binance web3 wallet is integrated into the Binance mobile app. It offers easy access to dApp, DeFi and allows you to easily switch between CeFi and DeFi.
Easy. The wallet simplifies interaction in DeFi and provides easy access to various services for earning and DeFi. It also has an "Airdrop Zone" for exclusive airdrops and allows cross-chain trading across multiple networks.
Safely. Thanks to Multiparty Computation (MPC) technology, the wallet has an enhanced level of asset security by separating and storing user keys in three different locations: on the user's device, in cloud storage, and on Binance servers.
The future vision of the blockchain industry
The launch of the Binance Web3 wallet is a key element of our vision for the future of the blockchain industry. Global adoption is based on creating an interface that provides simplicity and security.
"As we believe that Web3 will improve money freedom around the world, our industry must continue to create tools that implement and protect users, and remove difficulties for them. To facilitate the mass adoption of Web3, we must identify and bridge the gap between centralized and decentralized systems
Binance's web3 wallet lowers the barriers to entry for users to achieve full non-custodial storage of their assets, and is an important convenient bridge to expanding opportunities in DeFi. Ultimately, our priority is to ensure that users can explore the Web3 with us in a comfortable and secure environment." - Changpeng Zhao, CEO and Founder of Binance
Conclusions
With advanced MPC technology and distributed security features, Binance's Web3 wallet can become a leader in Web3. We're proud to introduce it as an inclusive, flexible and secure solution for people around the world, enabling the next phase of the digital finance industry.
Ultimately, the Binance Web3 wallet represents a transformation towards greater financial freedom and privacy – an evolution we are proud to be a part of.
