Brazil Launches National Blockchain-Based ID
The Brazilian government announced the nationwide implementation of blockchain-based identity cards that will centralize identity functions across all states. Select states, including Goias, Parana, and Rio de Janeiro, will soon begin issuing National Identity Cards, and all states must adopt them by November 6.
The digital document will serve as a weapon against identity theft in Brazil, as the card includes a QR code that will be used to verify the authenticity of the ID and other documents related to it.
