Golden Finance reported that Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin expressed concern about the decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) monopolizing the choice of liquidity pool node operators. In a blog post, Buterin warned that because the liquidity staking pool adopts the DAO method to govern the node operators (who are ultimately responsible for the pool's funds), this may expose them to potential risks from malicious actors. Buterin said that through the DAO method, if one such staking token dominates, it will lead to a single, potentially attackable governance gadget controlling a large portion of all Ethereum validators. Buterin emphasized that one possible way to solve this problem is to promote and encourage ecosystem participants to utilize a variety of liquidity staking providers. This will reduce the possibility of any one provider becoming too large and posing a systemic risk.
