$USDT on the wrong network = lost money. There is no refund, no support, no "cancel." It disappears and never comes back.
The good news: this is uncertainty, not bad luck. And uncertainty can be resolved in minutes.
THE GOLDEN RULE (applies to any wallet and any exchange): the network you choose to SEND from must be exactly the same as the one the platform gave you to RECEIVE.
USDT is not just one thing. There is USDT on the Tron network (TRC20), on the BNB network (BEP20), and on the Ethereum network (ERC20). It is the same coin traveling on different roads. Receive a TRC20 address and send via BEP20? The value lands in a place that does not exist on that side. Nobody credits it, nobody recovers it.
HOW TO CHOOSE THE NETWORK:
- Choose based on the network where your coin is ALREADY on, not the cheapest one.
- When you can choose, TRC20 is usually cheaper and faster for USDT. ERC20 is usually the most expensive.
THE TRICK THAT SAVES YOU (takes 5 seconds): after pasting the address, check the first 4 and last 4 characters in both the sending app and the receiving app. There is malware that changes the pasted address without you noticing. If the 8 characters match, it is correct.
FIRST TIME USING THIS ADDRESS OR THIS NETWORK? Send a small amount first. Five, ten dollars. Wait for it to arrive. Then send the rest. It costs one extra fee and gives you certainty that the route is correct.
NETWORK FEE: it is paid in the network's coin, not in USDT. TRC20 requires a little TRX in the wallet. BEP20 requires a little BNB. Without that coin, the transfer will not even go through.
"I SENT IT AND IT DIDN'T ARRIVE": calm down, the deposit usually goes first to the Funding account, not the Futures one. Check there. If it still does not show up:
1. the network is still confirming — sometimes it takes a few minutes;
2. you sent less than the minimum amount for that network;
3. it was sent on the wrong network — and in that case, it almost never comes back;
4. you sent a different coin to the USDT address.
Always keep the transaction hash. With it, support can track it; without it, nobody can find it.
