$TWT TRUST WALLET BREACH EXPOSED: $7M HIT — BUT USERS GET FULL PAYBACK

Trust Wallet has officially opened its compensation process after a Christmas-time malware incident drained roughly $7 million from users. And here’s the key headline: 100% reimbursement is confirmed.
The attack came from a malicious Chrome extension update (v2.68), published after a Chrome Web Store API key leak, allowing hackers to bypass internal checks.

The injected code harvested seed phrases and funneled them to attacker servers. Assets across Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana were affected.
Roughly $4M has already flowed through centralized exchanges, while about $2.8M remains in hacker wallets. Only desktop Chrome extension users who logged in before 18:00 (VN time) on Dec 26 were impacted — mobile users are safe.
Trust Wallet has patched the issue, urging upgrades to v2.89, and CZ confirmed losses will be covered via SAFU.

🔒 Secure API Configuration on Binance
To get started, access your Binance Pro account. Click on the profile icon and select "API Management". This tool is the technical bridge that will allow your arbitrage bot to execute orders automatically without manual intervention.
Press "Create API" and choose the option "System Generated" (HMAC). Assign it a clear name, such as "ArbitrageBot_2025". This will help you identify and audit the access to your account if you decide to connect multiple tools or external services.
Complete the mandatory security verification. Enter your 2FA codes, either via SMS, email, or authentication app. This step is vital to confirm that only you, as the owner, are authorizing the creation of these keys.
Copy and immediately save your "API Key" and "Secret Key". Binance only shows the secret key once for security. Store them in an encrypted password manager; never leave them in plain text files or shared folders.
Select "Edit Restrictions" and enable the option "Restrict access only to trusted IP addresses". Enter your bot's IP. Without this, Binance will automatically disable your trading permissions after ninety days for institutional security reasons.
Only check the box "Enable Spot and Margin Trading". For an arbitrage bot, this is sufficient. Ensure that the "Enable withdrawals" box remains unchecked; this way, even if the API is leaked, no one can withdraw your funds to external wallets.
If your strategy requires arbitrage in derivatives markets, also check "Enable Futures". Verify that all permissions match the technical needs of the bot. Finally, click on "Save" for the changes and IP restrictions to take effect.
Regularly monitor the activity log of your API. If you notice unusual movements, delete the key and generate a new one.
