🛡️ Warning: AI browser plugins are stealing your crypto assets!
Dear traders, please be aware that the AI craze is being exploited by hackers. According to LayerX's latest investigation report (February 2026), researchers have discovered over 30 Chrome AI extensions with malicious code, with installations exceeding 300,000 times.
🚨 Where are the traps?
These plugins disguise themselves as very useful tools: text summarizers, ChatGPT assistants, or translation plugins. But their true purpose is to steal your Session Cookies (login credentials) and account passwords.
⚠️ Why are crypto users the most at risk?
Session hijacking: Even if you have a complex password, hackers can bypass the login process using the stolen cookies to directly access your trading platform. Clipboard tampering: Some malicious plugins monitor your clipboard, and when you copy a wallet address, they secretly replace it with the hacker's address. Email leakage: Among these malicious plugins, 15 are specifically targeting Gmail, allowing hackers to read your emails and intercept password reset links or withdrawal confirmation codes.
✅ SAFU Security Checklist:
Clean up plugins: Enter chrome://extensions/ in your browser and immediately remove any from unknown developers or recently installed AI tools. Isolate trading environment: It is recommended to use a dedicated, plugin-free browser for Binance trading. Enforce 2FA: Make sure to use Google Authenticator or a hardware key (such as YubiKey). This is the last line of defense for your assets. Carefully verify addresses: Before each transfer, make sure to manually check the first and last few characters of the wallet address.
