Whoa whoa! Bitcoin contracts are about to experience a major breakthrough! 🚀ZeroSync project leader Robin Linus released a white paper titled "BitVM: Performing Any Computation on Bitcoin", stating that BitVM can implement Turing-complete Bitcoin contracts without changing the Bitcoin consensus rule. It can perform almost any arbitrary calculation and utilize that calculation to perform on-chain Bitcoin transactions.

The highlight of BitVM is that the "logic" of Bitcoin contracts will be executed off-chain, but verification will occur on the Bitcoin blockchain, similar to Ethereum's optimistic rollup. The architecture is based on a fraud proof and challenge-response model, where a "prover" can make claims and a "verifier" can perform fraud proofs to punish the prover when making false claims.

This new proposal has attracted significant attention from many well-known figures in the Bitcoin community, including Eric Wall, co-founder of Arcane Assets, Bitcoin analyst Dylan LeClair, and co-founder of Blockstream, the hashcash used in the Bitcoin mining process. Inventor Adam Back.
