#EvernorthNasdaqDebutClosesDown1.05% Evernorth Holdings Inc. (Nasdaq: XRPN) made its Nasdaq debut on October 12, closing down 1.05% at $16.91 after experiencing volatility that included a 13% intraday spike.
The company serves as the first dedicated
$XRP treasury vehicle, holding 473 million XRP and $300 million in gross cash from its SPAC merger with Armada Acquisition Corp II.
The debut was postponed from October 8 due to administrative issues.
In terms of financial performance, the price of
$XRP declined from $2.36 at the time of the deal signing to $1.43 at the close, reducing the treasury's value from $1.12 billion to $677 million, resulting in a $443 million paper loss.
Additionally, over 80.3% of Armada shareholders opted to redeem their shares, withdrawing $195.3 million from the deal.
Evernorth, supported by Ripple, Kraken, Pantera Capital, SBI Group, and Arrington XRP Capital, aims to increase XRP per share through institutional lending, DeFi yields, and participation in the ecosystem.
On the same day, Evernorth appointed Hugo Jeandesboz, former Co-Chief Investment Officer at Coinbase Asset Management, as Chief Investment Officer to lead its treasury strategy.
The sell-the-news sentiment contributed to
$XRP dropping below $1.40, leading to liquidations.
However, exchange-traded funds continue to experience inflows, suggesting this may be more of a positioning adjustment rather than an indication of fundamental weakness.
