Update on the recovery of assets affected by Security Incident No. 7: Nearly 98% of the stolen assets have been recovered; the scope of Proof of Reserves snapshots has been expanded further (November 4, 2026)
Dear users,
As previously promised, users' funds are safe in this security incident, and Binance will cover all losses resulting from the stolen funds. We have already allocated more than 100% of the total required assets from Binance's own funds. So far, nearly 98% of the affected assets have been recovered, and we will continue purchasing the remaining assets through market channels and over-the-counter trading channels. Since the remaining liquidity (2%) is low, the purchases are expected to take some time. We will continue to keep you updated on the latest developments.
In addition, the latest set of Proof of Reserves snapshots was completed on November 4, 2026, at 08:00 (UTC+8). This set covers 44 cryptocurrencies, a further expansion from the 10 cryptocurrencies included in the previous set. Users can now view these snapshots on the Proof of Reserves page.
This set of snapshots provides the latest information on sufficient reserve backing, reaffirming our ongoing commitment to providing users with transparent and open information. Due to the extensive computations involved, generating the complete zero-knowledge proof is expected to take approximately 50 to 60 hours. Once the proof is generated, users who hold any of the cryptocurrencies included in this set can independently verify whether their account balances are backed by sufficient reserves at a ratio of at least 1:1.
We will continue working to acquire the remaining assets, strive to fully restore deposit and withdrawal services, strengthen security measures, and proactively share the latest available information.#Binance
