Justin is already preparing for “Q-Day”
There’s a somewhat concerning news story on CoinPost today.
According to Glassnode, the public keys for “31.2% of the BTC supply, or about 6.26 million BTC,” have already been exposed on the blockchain.
As of May, the figure was 6.04 million BTC, or 30.2%, so it’s increased by about 220,000 BTC in roughly five months 💥
🔶First, let’s clear up a misconception🔶
First off, this doesn’t mean that “31.2% of BTC will be stolen right now” or that today’s quantum computers can break Bitcoin’s private keys.
The issue arises if a sufficiently powerful quantum computer is developed in the future
The question then becomes how to migrate assets whose public keys are already exposed to a quantum-resistant scheme
And seeing this news today reminded me of the preparations for “Q-Day” that Justin Sun had been raising concerns about for some time 🚨
🔶Mr. Justin had already raised the issue in April🔶
In April, Mr. Justin
“Quantum security shouldn’t be a debate;
it should be a feature.”
and said
He expressed the view that quantum security shouldn’t be something to debate, but something built in as a feature, and TRON’s
announced the Post-Quantum Upgrade Initiative
The important thing here is not to wait until quantum computers become an actual threat, but to have a system in place that enables migration beforehand
🔶After that, TRON moved into actual development🔶
It didn’t stop at an announcement: Post-Quantum Signature Support “TIP-899” was published
as a post-quantum signature
FN-DSA-512
ML-DSA-44
Work progressed on a design to integrate it into TRON 🚀
Furthermore, in July, FN-DSA-512 was actually enabled on Nile Testnet
raised the issue

🔹Audit
🔹Bug Bounty
🔹Governance
After steps such as these, it is now moving toward Mainnet deployment
🔶How does this connect to today’s news?🔶
What Glassnode has shown this time is that if a transition to a quantum-resistant scheme becomes necessary in the future, there will already be a massive target of 6.26 million BTC
Quantum-proofing blockchain isn’t over once a new cryptographic scheme has been created
🔹Wallet
🔹Exchange
🔹Custodian
🔹Network
We also need to consider how to safely migrate massive amounts of assets, including those, to a new scheme, right? 💦
So I think when Mr. Justin raised this issue in the past, he wasn’t simply saying “quantum computers are scary”; the concern was about “making sure the blockchain is ready to migrate before Q-Day arrives”
Today, with the specific figure of “31.2%, or 6.26 million BTC” emerging, the question “How will blockchain transition in the quantum era?”—which once seemed like a distant-future issue—feels much more real
“Quantum security shouldn’t be a debate;
it should be a feature.”
Looking at this alongside today’s news, you can see why these words matter
