NEAR Protocol posted on the X platform that NEAR has been deployed to the spot market of the decentralized trading platform Hyperliquid. Since the deployment has just been completed, according to Hyperliquid’s process, it will take a few more days for NEAR to appear in the interface’s strict list. During this period, users can access the NEAR/USDC spot trading page via a dedicated link.

The noteworthy point of this message is not the price, but the process. Hyperliquid’s strict list is essentially a curated default display slot: new assets are listed first and then added to the list as the normal cadence. So “already deployed” and “formally included in the interface” are two different things, with a time gap in between. For NEAR, having an additional USDC-denominated spot venue means another on-chain liquidity on-ramp. For Hyperliquid, expanding its spot offerings beyond derivatives helps fill out coverage on the spot side.

However, the launch of a single token on a new trading venue, by itself, does not constitute a directional judgment. Whether it can generate sustained trading volume and depth depends on the market-making arrangements and any subsequent incentives. As of now, this information has not been disclosed. If liquidity depth is insufficient, price slippage may be relatively high, which could diminish the actual user experience.

Next, two variables can be monitored: first, when NEAR will enter the strict list, which determines whether it can attract organic traffic; second, whether the order book depth and trading volume for NEAR/USDC remain stable after launch, rather than spiking only on day one.
