💥 Cardano enters the race for payments between AI agents
Cardano has added x402 — a payment standard — to its official toolkit. It allows AI agents to independently pay for data, APIs, and computing resources using ADA and other network tokens.
What it looks like: AI needs a specific set of data → the service sets a price → the agent signs the transaction itself → pays for access and receives the data. No credit card, no registration, no subscription.
Solana and the XRP Ledger are already in this race, and x402 itself was originally developed by Coinbase.
⚠️ IMPORTANT: Cardano successfully completed a transaction only on the pre-production network. The technology is not yet live on mainnet, and there are currently no large-scale commercial payments by AI agents.
