The DRAM market is on fire! AI server demand is igniting the memory industry, and the market size hit a record high in Q2.
According to the latest data, the global DRAM market reached $147 billion in Q2 2026, up 55.9% quarter over quarter, setting a new all-time record.
The biggest driver behind this memory boom is the continued surge in AI server demand. As the arms race in AI computing power accelerates, high-end memory products such as server DRAM and HBM have become market favorites, and major memory manufacturers are also seizing the opportunity to expand sales of high-margin products.
Data shows that compared with Q1, prices for server and PC memory rose sharply. Although the increase slowed somewhat in Q2, overall prices still climbed by about 40%-50%. Driven by both strong demand and rising prices, memory manufacturers saw volume and price rise together, leading to a significant increase in revenue.
Looking ahead to Q3, some server customers have already locked in prices in advance, but market demand remains robust. DRAM prices are expected to keep rising, though the pace of increase may gradually slow. At the same time, as shipment volumes resume growth, manufacturers’ revenue is likely to break historical records again.
In simple terms, AI is not only changing the chip industry, but is also reigniting the memory market. In the past, the memory cycle was driven by phones and computers; today, AI servers are becoming the new super engine. Whoever controls high-performance memory capacity is most likely to capture the biggest gains from this wave of AI.
