According to Foresight News, NEAR has decided to increase the number of shards from the previous 4 to 6, resulting in a 50% increase in network capacity. By the end of the second quarter, stateless verification is expected to be launched on the main network. This upgrade is projected to enhance the throughput of each shard by five times and increase the total number of shards available on the network.
