The development history of BTC from 2008 to 2023 can be divided into the following stages:
1. The outbreak of the financial crisis in 2008 exposed the fatal flaws of the centralized model. On November 1 of that year, Satoshi Nakamoto released the Bitcoin white paper, detailing the operating mechanism of Bitcoin.
2. On January 3, 2009, the Genesis block of the Bitcoin blockchain was mined by Satoshi Nakamoto, generating a block reward of 50 BTC, marking the official launch of Bitcoin.
3. In the early days, the transaction value of Bitcoin was negotiated between users on the "bitcointalk" forum, including exchanging 10,000 Bitcoins for a whole pizza.
4. On August 6, 2010, a major vulnerability was discovered in the Bitcoin protocol, where transactions were not fully authenticated before being logged into the record or "block chain," allowing users to bypass Bitcoin's economic restrictions and create unlimited Bitcoin. On August 15, this vulnerability was maliciously exploited; 184 million Bitcoins were generated during a transfer transaction and transferred to two addresses on the Bitcoin network. In less than an hour, the abnormal transaction was discovered and deleted from the transaction record after the vulnerability was fixed, and the entire network was updated to the new version of the Bitcoin protocol. As of February 2014, this is the only major security vulnerability discovered and exploited in Bitcoin's history.
5. Since June 2011, WikiLeaks and other organizations have begun accepting donations in Bitcoin.
6. Since 2013, the price of Bitcoin has experienced an explosive growth, attracting more investors and traders to enter the market. As the price of Bitcoin continues to rise, more media outlets begin to report on Bitcoin, and global attention has further increased.
7. After the boom phase, the price of Bitcoin peaked at the end of 2017, but then fell rapidly and fell into a long-term downward channel in early 2018. This also made many people begin to question the prospects of Bitcoin and rethink its future development.
8. With the continuous advancement of technology and the continuous maturity of the market, the development of Bitcoin has shifted from a simple digital currency to a richer and more diversified direction. It has reached its historical peak again in 2021.
At present, Bitcoin has been widely used in many fields such as payment, investment, and savings, and has gradually been recognized by many countries and is considered digital gold. Can you keep up with the next round of Bitcoin peak? Let's wait and see.
