PENGU is still drawing plenty of discussion today. OKX spot trading volume over the rolling 24-hour period was about 1.13 million USDT, yet the price was below where it started that period. Ongoing trading does not mean the price is moving steadily upward. Another figure that is easy to confuse when looking at a coin like this is supply: the issuance cap, circulating supply, and the amount traded each day answer three different questions.

Binance's December 2024 listing announcement stated that PENGU's maximum supply was 88888888888 tokens, with 62415951646 tokens in circulation at listing, or 70.22% of the cap. These figures reflect the historical supply figures at the time of issuance; they cannot simply be treated as today's circulating supply, much less can the portion that was not yet circulating then be directly described as new selling pressure today.

At the same price, multiplying by the circulating supply gives the circulating market capitalization, while multiplying by the maximum supply gives the fully diluted valuation. A low price per token does not mean the overall valuation is low, and comparing one project using one supply measure with another using a different measure could lead to the opposite impression.

For PENGU, future supply arrangements, holder behavior, and actual liquidity could all affect its ability to withstand price pressure. Unverified unlock schedules should not be added, and popularity and trading volume cannot substitute for assessing whether funds can exit smoothly.
