That said, the crash in the prices of major cryptocurrencies is striking. By way of analogy, it’s as if the price of gold were to plummet because of a major robbery at some warehouse. Let’s remember that the essence of cryptocurrencies is self-custody (your keys, your crypto). So it’s also worth bearing in mind that it’s easier to manipulate a price downward and make a tidy profit. Action has already been taken, and a large portion of the stolen assets have been frozen and will eventually be returned to their owners.

CZ posted: "User funds are safe. It does look like a hack on Binance." As a shareholder, he expects all user funds to be fully covered.
