Efficient verification with strong security guarantees is a powerful direction for Bitcoin's long term evolution. Great insight into Babylon's vision.

#baby $BABY @BabylonLabs_io While exploring different ways Bitcoin has been used to secure other networks, I found it interesting to compare Babylon's approach with merge mining. Earlier models like Namecoin and later systems such as Rootstock showed that Bitcoin miners could help secure additional chains, but they also came with practical limitations and didn't fully address incentive problems like Nothing at Stake in Proof of Stake environments. Babylon takes a different path by introducing Bitcoin staking backed by cryptographic accountability and slashing conditions instead of depending on merged mining.
What stands out to me is that Babylon isn't trying to recreate older security models. It rethinks how Bitcoin can support other networks while making dishonest validator behavior economically expensive. That shift could make Bitcoin a more active security layer for PoS ecosystems without changing Bitcoin's core design. To me, this is an example of learning from earlier blockchain experiments and building a model that is better aligned with today's decentralized infrastructure.
I used to think Bitcoin’s value came from being digital gold. I don’t think that’s the full story anymore.#baby
The more I learned about Babylon, the more I realized Bitcoin’s biggest asset might not be its price. It might be its security.
For years, Bitcoin has built one of the strongest security models in crypto. Now that same security can potentially help protect Proof of Stake networks through self-custodial BTC staking, without wrapping Bitcoin or giving it to a custodian.
That shift caught my attention.
Markets move with hype, but infrastructure creates long term value. If networks are willing to pay for Bitcoin’s security, it gives BTC another meaningful role beyond simply being a store of value.@BabylonLabs_io
This doesn’t mean the idea is already proven. Adoption, security, and real world usage will decide that over time.
But one thing changed for me.
I’m no longer asking only, “How high can Bitcoin go?”
I’m also asking, “How valuable can Bitcoin’s security become?” $ON $COTI $BABY
