$BTC just recorded a 5.8-sigma move against its 30-day volatility, marking its strongest daily upside spike since October 2023. That’s not a normal daily move. It shows just how far today’s price action deviated from Bitcoin’s recent range. The bigger question now is whether real demand can sustain the move after the initial squeeze fades.

$BTC just had its strongest day since February, with a $1.4B short squeeze helping drive the move. As shorts got liquidated, traders were forced to buy back BTC, pushing prices higher and triggering more liquidations. Classic squeeze mechanics: shorts became the fuel for the rally.

The Market is bullish, but trader 0x2E88 decided to fight it. He’s short 9,346 $ETH worth $21.43M on @Aster_DEX and is already down $1.63M (-60.83%) unrealized. Bro is either extremely confident or extremely committed. 😭

Ethereum exchange supply has dropped roughly 15% in just 11 weeks, while Bitcoin’s exchange balances have started climbing again. That’s an interesting divergence. Less $ETH sitting on exchanges could mean fewer coins immediately available to sell, while the rise in $BTC balances suggests more BTC is becoming liquid. DYOR!

History! 18 years ago today, Satoshi Nakamoto registered Bitcoin.org. Crazy to think that a simple domain registration would eventually become part of the history of a $2T+ asset class. 18 years later, $BTC is still here.

Do you know that anyone can perfectly guess 24 random words in a row and get $70B $BTC ? Hahaha! The odd of that happening are 1 in 3,000,000,000,000,000 Nearly impossible!

Monad Foundation completed a $60M liquidity program that gave early investors the option to sell locked $MON at a discount. What caught my attention is that almost all eligible holders chose not to participate. It doesn’t automatically mean they’re bullish, but it does suggest many early holders would rather keep their exposure than take the immediate liquidity.

$BTC outperforming the stock market today is nice, but the bigger picture is still pretty telling. It has only beaten the S&P 500 on about one in three trading days over the last three months, its longest stretch of underperformance in six years. One green day doesn’t change the trend.

$BTC Coinbase Premium Index has stayed negative for 90 straight days, hitting -0.1066%. Suggestion has it that U.S. buyers have been weaker than buyers on Binance for an unusually long stretch. It doesn’t automatically mean institutions are selling, but it does show that U.S. spot demand hasn’t been strong enough to lead the market.

Reports suggest around 2.8 $ONE reached exchange-linked addresses, although the exact amount sold or frozen is still being established. Sadly, even as projects keep investing in security, this is a good reminder that crypto security should not only be about preventing an exploit. Project devs should also prepare for post-exploit measures. Fast detection, real-time monitoring and exchange coordination can determine how much damage happens after an exploit. The lesson for protocols: assume that once funds move, every minute matters. Stay SAFU!

Update! $ETH roadmap is getting interesting beyond scaling. The quantum-security push especially stands out ngl. Preparing for post-quantum signatures now makes sense, but larger signatures could increase calldata and verification costs. The privacy and formal-verification work is just as important. And native rollups could eventually move more verification into Ethereum itself instead of leaving every L2 to build its own stack. Ethereum is not simply trying to get faster, it’s trying to make the base layer harder to break fam!

⚠️ TOKEN EXPLOIT! Harmony’s $ONE token just took a massive hit after an attacker minted 4B ONE, roughly 26% of total supply. Around 2.8B $ONE has already been moved to exchanges, leaving only about 115M ONE onchain. Harmony says it’s working with exchanges to freeze the funds and is considering a patch and possible chain rollback.

CryptoQuant CEO Ki Young Ju says $BTC current rally is futures-driven, warning it needs spot demand too or risks fading like it did in April. Ki Young Ju’s point is worth watching. A futures-led rally can push price higher without creating enough real spot demand underneath it. If buyers aren’t actually absorbing supply in the spot market, leverage can unwind quickly and take the rally with it. The next thing I’d watch isn’t only $BTC price, it’s whether spot volumes and net spot buying start confirming the move.

Always interesting watching $ETH lag while other large-cap alts run. At this point, some people really have a personal issue with Ethereum.
