Binance Australia and Binance Charity donate $US300,000 to an Australian university
Binance Australia is pleased to announce our partnership through Binance Charity with the University of Western Australia (UWA) in donating up to US$300,000 in cryptocurrency to advance blockchain education.
The donation will go towards enhancing the blockchain courses already on offer at UWA, while simultaneously building out a full Masterâs program for blockchain technology. A third of the funding is allocated to developing a UWA Metaverse lab which will be researched and designed by the students.
The initiative will create equal access opportunities for UWA students to practically engage with blockchain technologies and develop in-demandskills for the emerging and established industries reshaping traditional economic sectors globally. This is part of Binance Charity's commitment to advance blockchain education and training worldwide.
We continue to see an increasing demand for a workforce with knowledge in blockchain and crypto. Students completing the course will learn about the key disruptive technologies powering Web3, how to apply the innovation in business and what implication the technologies will have on work, economy and society. The partnership is expected to be over an initial term of three years, with each year of funding based on milestones agreed between the parties. This official partnership extends a positive collaboration experience over 2021 through industry events and guest lectures at UWA from Binance Australia employees.Â
