According to The Block, Jesse Shrader, CEO of Bitcoin Lightning Network platform Amboss, said that BlackRock's proposed spot Bitcoin ETF missed the opportunity to deploy funds on the Lightning Network and earn non-custodial returns by providing payment infrastructure. Amboss is interested in helping institutions use the Lightning Network to obtain non-custodial returns and subvert traditional payment processors.
Shrader said BlackRock has an opportunity to disrupt not only gold but also payment processors such as Visa, Mastercard and American Express.
