From the beginning, Binance has been surrounded by one of the most committed crypto communities. We had the opportunity to talk with Waldo, one of its most prominent representatives, to learn about his history, his interests, his beginnings and his next plans.
What's your story, Waldo?
Hello! In the community they know me as Waldo LocademiaCripto and I am from Argentina.
What do you enjoy in your free time?
Cryptocurrencies are my passion, so I'm always reading about the ecosystem. You could say that I work from Monday to Monday; I am always connected to some work related to business and cryptocurrencies. When there is some time, I do paddle tennis, get on the bike or go to the gym.
How did you get into the industry?
I am a Public Accountant and very passionate about digital businesses, which led me to learn about cryptocurrencies in 2012. But it was not until 2015 that I made my first investments in Bitcoin and Ethereum, saving and taking everything to a cold-wallet because by then The exchanges were little known, with a dubious reputation and stablecoins did not exist, so trading was completely against Bitcoin.
It was when I decided to further diversify my cryptocurrency portfolio that I came to Binance. I began to allocate a percentage that previously went to HODL and switched to crypto trading. As I said: stable cryptocurrencies did not exist, so I bought cryptos from the/BTC pair. They were moments of great adrenaline!
Who told you about crypto?
In 2012, one of my best friends told me about FAUCETs games and I did my own research. There was no Binance Academy, so there was very little information, which was also not in Spanish. Everything was very difficult to understand.
How did you find out about Binance Angels?
Now with my Binance account, after a lot of trading and some P2P operations, I decided to get to know the Binance community. I discovered Telegram and started asking things I didn't know... but I also started helping others. In that selfless work, I met the Binance Angels, who also helped voluntarily.
What motivated you to be one?
Since the beginning of the Internet, I have always helped in virtual communities. I went through IRC, ICQ, MSN. I am always willing to listen to other people's problems and look for ways to solve them. I am a featured contributor on Quora. When I saw that we could also collaborate in the cryptocurrency environment with Binance... I said to myself: Why not?
Best moment/anecdote as a Binance Angel?
This would not be possible now, but just a week after entering the program, I was promoted to Official Angel and recognized as Angel of the Week for my constant contributions to the community.
What do you like most about the Binance community?
The value that its members bring, the synergy that occurs in community debates.
What qualities should a Binance Angel have?
More than patience and skills, being a Binance Angel requires a special mettle because you will be tested countless times on a daily basis.
