From the beginning, Binance has been surrounded by one of the most committed crypto communities. We had the opportunity to talk with Pepe, one of its most prominent representatives, to learn about his history, his interests, his beginnings and his next plans.
What is your story, Pepe?
Hello! My name is José Roberto Martínez Gutiérrez. I am 38 years old and I am from Mexico.
What do you enjoy in your free time?
I regularly go to the movies, watch reports about the crypto world and go to the beach.
What has been your time in cryptocurrencies?
It has been very exciting! In a relatively short time I went from knowing nothing about cryptocurrencies to co-founding a community of crypto enthusiasts called Bitcuners. I won the DAO project and then joined the Binance Angels program, where I am Archangel of Mexico.
How did you find out about Binance Angels?
Look, a very close friend of mine was in the volunteer program. He told me about the program, the trips, the meetings, the incredible community. I love helping users, so I applied.
Best moment/anecdote as a Binance Angel?
I fondly remember Talent Land 2022, where two users recognized me from the Binance Angels program. They were both very grateful for the support I gave them in a very complicated situation. I can still feel the warmth and good energy of the people, which is my main reason to continue helping the Binance community.
What qualities should a Binance Angel have?
Many! But honesty, respect and desire to help are some of the most important.
