South Korea’s KOSPI has been on an absolutely wild roller-coaster ride this cycle:
The index surged from around 2,400 to a record high of 9,385. That enormous rally built up a huge amount of unrealized gains, and after such a sharp run-up, a significant pullback was bound to happen.
It has now fallen from above 9,000 to 5,552, nearly halving in value. Looking back at the chart: the last time the KOSPI fell to around 2,400, the 3x leveraged bullish ETF KORU was bottoming out in the $4–5 range.

The main factors driving this sustained sell-off:

1. The market is heavily tied to semiconductors, with Samsung and SK Hynix accounting for more than half of the index’s total weight. The previous AI memory supercycle drove share prices higher. Now, as AI enthusiasm cools and expectations for memory chips decline, foreign investors have continued selling the two giants, directly weighing on the index.

2. Foreign investors have continued to withdraw large sums, while the won has weakened, creating a negative feedback loop in which both stocks and the currency fall.

3. During the previous bull market, South Korean retail investors piled in using leverage. Once the index turned downward, many accounts were hit with forced liquidations, accelerating the sell-off further.

4. The market had surged too much, too quickly, leaving a huge overhang of profits to take. Once sentiment reverses, investors rush to cash out and exit, making the correction especially severe.

If the KOSPI continues to fall and returns to 2,400 this cycle, historical charts suggest KORU would likely retreat to its historical bottom range of $3–4.

$PHA Try harnessing the power of an uptrend. I've added to my position five times, each time at the lowest point of a pullback, up to my limit of five adds. I'll consider adding again at 0.08. If my stop-loss isn't triggered, I'll keep adding. But the stop-loss must be at breakeven or below the bottom of the range, at a trend support level. That's how you aim for big returns with a small amount of capital.

These three altcoins have the most promising charts tonight: PHA is the strongest, XNY is the second strongest, and APR is a good candidate to accumulate on dips. LYN's momentum is still a bit weak, but it's worth watching.

$PHA I won't set a take-profit level for now. If you're heavily invested, sell half between 0.08 and 0.09, or take profit on the whole position at 0.08 if momentum is weak. I'll keep adding to my position while it's in profit until the trend ends.
